57th Report in 2013: The Attentions that Should Be Paid by the Government in Rebuilding the Houses in Disaster Areas----Taking Wenchuan as an Example

Abstract: This paper firstly summarizes the experience of house reconstruction in Wenchuan earthquake area. According to the result of sampling survey and field investigation result, this report analyses the influences of different ways of government intervene in the house reconstruction in disaster area. It found that the strong government intervene could improve the earthquake victims’living condition, but at the same time, it also lowered the evaluation of the quality of houses. However, the weak government intervene brought the heaviest debt burden for the earthquake victims. Based on that, this paper gives suggestions on the government intervene in house reconstruction in Ya'an earthquake area.
